I enjoyed taking part in the Everything Austen Challenge this year and have this week happened upon a couple more challenges that I can't resist.
The first one is the Historical Fiction reading challenge hosted on the Historical Tapestry blog - what a great blog this is for anybody like myself who is a lover of historical fiction. I haven't visited before this week but will be spending some quality time reading the entries over the next couple of weeks. I'm going to aim for Severe Bookaholism for this challenge...20 books, I think that won't be at all difficult for me.
The second challenge is 'Being a Jane Austen Mystery Challenge' and involves reading a number of Stephanie Barron's Jane Austen mystery books. I haven't read any of these before so I'm going to sign myself up as a neophyte with the proviso that I may promote myself to an afficionado if I find that I like the books very much (strong possibility of this happening as historical + Jane Austen + detective is the sort of book right at the top of my list of likes). I'll be starting with the first 4 books...I always like to read in order.
Two good challenges there I think, I'm looking forward to both of them.
