I enjoyed taking part in the Everything Austen Challenge this year and have this week happened upon a couple more challenges that I can't resist.
The first one is the Historical Fiction reading challenge hosted on the Historical Tapestry blog - what a great blog this is for anybody like myself who is a lover of historical fiction. I haven't visited before this week but will be spending some quality time reading the entries over the next couple of weeks. I'm going to aim for Severe Bookaholism for this challenge...20 books, I think that won't be at all difficult for me.
The second challenge is 'Being a Jane Austen Mystery Challenge' and involves reading a number of Stephanie Barron's Jane Austen mystery books. I haven't read any of these before so I'm going to sign myself up as a neophyte with the proviso that I may promote myself to an afficionado if I find that I like the books very much (strong possibility of this happening as historical + Jane Austen + detective is the sort of book right at the top of my list of likes). I'll be starting with the first 4 books...I always like to read in order.
Two good challenges there I think, I'm looking forward to both of them.
Thanks for the shout out on the Being a Jane Austen Mystery Challenge Theresa. Could you add a live link to the post?

I'm a historical fiction addict, so I'll have to check out the challenge. Thanks for plunging into the series, Theresa--and happy reading.

Hmm, well I didn't do so well on the Everything Austen challenge so I'm trying very hard not to be tempted by this Austen challenge but it's very hard. Those books do look good.
I knew I shouldn't have clicked through to your blog...

I have read most of Stephanie Barron's books over the years, although I didn't realize there were eleven of them. What can I say, I am ridiculously busy with work (nothing exotic, I teach middle school), but still find time to read my favorite authors. I want to thank you for the suggestions to the left- I plan to check them out. I happen to also enjoy the Mary Russell Mysteries. Thanks for the blog.
